Sarge Installation

Two weeks back I installed Sarge [ Debian GNU/Linux 3.1r0a ] in my Dexter. Upgraded Woody to Sarge. Before one month itself, I got the installation DVD's from Mumbai which I ordered through internet. As my poor dexter doesnt hold a DVD drive, things got delayed. The DVD's contained 14 CD images totalling to 16000 packages! GNOME 2.8 look 'n' feel has improved a lot particulary with the menu structure. But, still a lot has to be done particularly with the video and audio players. Totem has improved a lot but it is still heavy. Xine, as usual supports a wide variety of video formats but I dont know why its developers are not concentrating much on its windows which are used for adding files to be played. The same thing exists for Xmms. The Xmms windows which are used for adding the mp3 files to the player are the same and they exist as the same right from the oldest redhat 7.0. This is too bad. I didnt find time to tweak other packages. I ll update once if i find something interesting.
